1955 Porsche 550 Spyder


This beauty from Porsche was named the "Spyder" by Johnny Von Neuman in 1955, and was most infamous as the car that James Dean drove to his death. This aluminum bodied classic incorporated a Type 547 power plant redesigned to give these some more power, and featured (Warning: Motorhead Alert) a roller bearing quad cam design that produced 110 horsepower. These soon brought respect from the racing world as a serious contender after winning the Le Mans. These have a style all their own, with a sporty and simple design that stands the test of time.
