
When Oldsmobile first introduced these in 1964, they were considered to be the first official factory made muscle car, and were named for their configuration of a 400 power plant, a four barrel carb and dual exhaust. This configuration was numbered as a W-30 due to the ram air injection hood that would throw out 360 horsepower right from the gate. They looked cool with racing stripes painted from the factory, sounded great, and would deliver the power on the street to gain respect from any other driver that might pull along side of you at a stop.
