Lawn Darts

These were thrust upon us in the late 1950's, and didn't sell all that well initially, but found a following as time went on. The game was played by tossing weighted darts across the playing field and into a plastic circle target. They were lots of fun until somebody discovered you could actually get hurt if you got hit by a dart (just a guess, but I'm betting drinking might have been involved). Either way, they were banned in the late 1980's anyway, so we had to go back to the usual yard games when we had a few beers. After all, how bad could we get hurt with a steel horseshoe if it hit us?
