These very cool toys were introduced in the mid 1940's by Mattel Toys and have been around with quite a bit of sucess ever since. They were basically a plastic ball with a viewing window that displayed an internal multi-sided cube that would answer your questions after you asked them. By merely turning them over after posing your question, the Magic 8 Ball would play fortune teller and predict the outcome of anything you might need to know about.
